Some bugs, improvment and futur idea for my favorite point cloud software
Hello Daniel, I recently gave formations about open source tools for point clouds, and a large part of it was about CloudCompare. http://remi.cura.info/img/misc/training_point_coud_engie.jpg I have been using CC for 5 years and I am astonished of the result : - an incredibly stable and efficient sof...

Color : better default color scale
Hey, I recently stumbled upon an interesting open source redesign of color scale by Matplotlib team (a major python plotter), it appears quite serious. Of course I thought about my favourite point cloud software. The color scale they designed have several advantages, such as being print friendly, co...

Re: Using 3D display with CloudCompare?
Hey, it seems that every time I ask for a new feature it is already implemented ! It works in anaglyph mode, but not in stereo mode with a passive zalman screen. (GT640 as graphic card, CC 2.6.3 Beta ) (error message of cloudcompare : "Quad buffering not supported") Thanks anyway :-) Cheer...

Using 3D display with CloudCompare?
Hey,
I tried searching the forum but came with nothing.
Is there any way to use a 3D display (my screen is a stereosterescopic screen with active synchronized glass) with CloudCompare?
I ask this out of curiosity, because I'm quit sure the answer is no.
Cheers,
Rémi-C

Re: CC load only forst object of .obj file
Thanls Daniel for your fast reply. Cloud Compare reads all objects, but each object faces should use global vertex numbering (I think it is standard obj). Workaround : use negative vertex numbering to reference to the latest redefined in each object. It works well now (not with EDL in Object-perspec...

CC load only forst object of .obj file
Hey,
I'm not sure if it is a feature request or bug,
but it seems that CloudCompare only read the first object of an obj file.
Yet,
an obj file can contain several object, each starting with
"o my_object_name"
It looks like as a very easy fix (adding a loop ! )
Cheers

rules to choose point when subsampling
Hey, We have 2 pointclouds that we merge. Then we would like to subsample to reduce the size. In this operation, the subsampling sometimes has to choose between points from cloud 1 or cloud2. We would need to guide the subsampling with a scalar field. For instance, take the point where the scalar fi...

Amazing new version !
Hey, just a quick feedback to say how good the new version is (for me), with the switch to visual display range fully working, EDL fully working, ply import with new option to __not__ reselect column type each time, ppa for ubuntu, mature geo-raster output, octree depth increased (no more problems w...
