Re: Is it possible to export extracted profile for 2D visualisation?

ok, thanks for that, swaping SF to coordinates should do the trick...if I am capable to compute the projected Distance of my section one solution I see is export coordinates as SF create X0 constant SF with X of first point create Y0 constant SF with Y of first point use Edit/scalar fields/arithmeti...

Re: Is it possible to export extracted profile for 2D visualisation?

thank you for your answer, and thanks for the tip on sampling mesh first, that is very useful You are right, having the lines would be the better option for me I did exactly what you said, export the resulting profile as a shapefile, it gives the option of the vertical dimension when I choose Z as a...

Is it possible to export extracted profile for 2D visualisation?

Hello, so I have been trying to extract sections from a 3D model. I have followed the wiki and I manage to have a good result, my main issue is how to extract it from cloudcompare to use it elsewhere my workflow 1 first I import a shapefile with the line sections I want to use 2 I select the vertexe...

Re: Isosurface

OK So this format cannot be loaded directly in CloudCompare. Thanks for looking at the data. I have been looking for other options of software that we could use for the export of the isosurface. One gives the option of a vtk format. It is a demo version and I cannot export data to try it. I am not f...

Re: Isosurface

the file only contains the 9 coordinates of the vertices of the triangles of the mesh
there is no header or anything else
it is a raw format
the size of the compressed file is of around 5mb
How can I send it to you?

Re: Isosurface

Okay, so I have been working on the subject. The isosurface is the equivalent of topographic contour lines for volumes. My first problem was that the volume that I generated using the SF filer was full of points, so I applied another filter in order to generate the shell (see in attachment). The pro...

Isosurface

Hello, I am working with a point set in x, y, z, sf. I am trying to create an isosurface using the scalar field. It is a standard option in 3D visualization of scientific data but the result is usually visual and cannot be exported as a mesh. Is there any way to do that with Cloudcompare? The isosur...

Re: Video recording

hi is there any news on this subject? Is having a sequence of render files an option? The render files of cloudcompare are of extremely good quality. If you could "just" create them in a loop then we would have material to build our own videos. (I know that "just" is very easy to...

Re: virtual memory

I understand the RAM limitation or physical memory limitation but I do not understand the paging file limitation. Why is it not possible to use this available memory? Actually, I would not understand at all the use of a paging file if programs cannot use it..Is it related to the graphic card? I am n...
