Coler Scale: How to switch from continuous to classes?

Post by beatlepilz »

Hi,

For my current work I compare point clouds with the Cloud-to-Cloud Distance Tool. But my distances are very small and a continuous color scale has too many similar colors to distinguish between different values. So I would like to "classify" the color scale. The result should be one distinct color for a distinct range of values.

At the moment it looks like this:

I want it to look like one of your examples at the wiki:

Do you have a hint for me?

Best regards
Lukas

Yes, you have to use a 'absolute' color scale. See http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... es_Manager

EDIT: and in this example we simply used the 'steps' parameter of the color scale (in the cloud properties) so as to use only a few of them. Another way to obtain this effect is to create fake steps very close to each other to avoir the 'gradient' effect.
