Hi,
I am trying to compare points to a plane developed from those points (plane created in Cyclone) and develop a deviation map, colored by distance to plane. I am a bit confused on how to bring my plane into Cloud Compare. It was created in Cyclone but also resides in AutoCAD as a DWG. How can this plane become a mesh in an accpetable input format to bring into CC?
Awesome software BTW. Just started playing around last week, but nice work.

Compare Points to DWG Plane...
Re: Compare Points to DWG Plane...
Hi,
Sadly there's no way to open DWG or other CAD files in CC. I don't know if tools such as DeepExploration or other converters are capable of transforming CAD files in triangular meshes?
Otherwise, you can fit a plane on your cloud directly in CC (with the "Tools > Other > Plane orientation" tool) and then compute the distances between your cloud and the resulting plane.
