I picked 125 points using the point picking list tool. The icon for exporting is greyed out. See attached picture. How do I get to export this list of points as a text file?
I performed this operation before and I could then export to a text file. I do not know what is special here.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I cannot reproduce this. Here's what I did using 2.9.1 on macOS:
- open a point cloud
- select it in the DB Tree
- click the Point List Picking icon in the toolbar
The point list window shows itself - the list is empty and the save button/menu is disabled.
- click a point on the point cloud
- it asks about computing the octree, I click "Yes"
- it adds the point to the list and the save button is now enabled
I tried clicking many points, but it stays active.
I looked at the code and the only time it changes the enabled state of that button (that I can see) is when the number of points changes. (The only other case I can see that might cause this is running out of memory?)
1) Can you reproduce this faithfully?
2) Does it only happen with a specific point cloud?
3) Can you please try it with 2.10.1?
I am happy to try with the newest version and report here.
But is there a way for me to save/export these points? Eventually they need to be stored in a text file.
It’s actually a lot of time to redo the picking I was doing.
You can click the green arrow which will add the points to your DB Tree.
You can then open "Point list picking" again to see if the save button is active.
If it is not, then select and save the point cloud as a .bin and it will save the points with it. Then you can try restarting and/or working with the latest version.
(Edit: By green arrow I mean the green check button)
