Hi there, I'm new to the software as well as the forums so I apologize if I made a mistake posting here.
I'm an undergraduate physics student that's interested in using this software to compare different objects that have been designed, 3D printed, scanned using an optical scanner, and scanned using a CT machine. I have been able to export all of these files as either .stl or .ply files, which I have imported into the software.
I was wondering if there are any academic papers, or even white papers that provide results of different comparisons using this software. I'm particularly interested in the different results obtained between the use of local models, as well as the accuracy of these calculations. Thanks for your time, and thanks for the very useful software.
Academic Journals/White papers
Re: Academic Journals/White papers
Well, I believe you should find a lot of them here for instance: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?as_v ... as_sdt=1,5
But the very first article about distance computation and local models is probably this one: https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... er_scanner
