Mixing PTX and LAS point clouds

Post by AlessandroC »

I'm trying to build a mesh putting together clouds coming from terrestrial laser scanning and UAV. TLS data are imported in PTX format and normals computated using sensors for orientation, UAV data are imported in LAS computing normals preferably oriented to Z. Normals are correctly oriented, so, why after merging data, they become messy? It would be better importing data in other formats?

So are the sets of normals both correct before merging? If yes, they should definitely not become 'messy'. Which version are you using?

Yues, they were correct before merging. Also, they are correct if meshes are created separately.
I'm using 2.11, updated to tha last available release.

Hum. Might be a bug?

Would you be able to send me the 2 separate clouds so that I can try to reproduce the issue on my side? (admin [at] cloudcompare.com)
