How to invert visibility of clouds?

Post by ash99 »

I would like to visually assess the difference of two aligned point clouds by rapidly switching between them, such that only one cloud is visible at a time. Other similar programs, such as MeshLab, have an obvious way to invert all the cloud visibilities with a single action and thus allow this functionality. How can I get this effect in CloudCompare?

You have to place both clouds under the same group (drag & drop). Then set one visible and the other non visible (either with the checkbox in the cloud properties, or with the 'v' shortcut). Then select the parent group and use 'v' (it will toggle the two clouds visibility).

I If you don't want to move them in the tree for some reason. You can just select both clouds with Ctrl+clicking each cloud you want to invert visibility on in the tree. And then pressing v for visibility

Thank you both for your replies, I'm now able to toggle between my clouds with the methods that you describe. I love the software, and appreciate your active user support!
