How to split a point cloud in sub section equivalently?

If CC is able to load the cloud, then yes, there's multiple ways to split the cloud (with the 'scissors' tool, or with the repetitive segmentation mode of the 'Cross section' tool - see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ss_Section)

And if the graphical version is not able to do it, you could try with the command line mode (see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... _line_mode - either with the CROP and CROP2D options, or with the more advanced CROSS_SECTION one)
