Dear members of the forum,
I regularly use Cloudcompare to study animal footprints and create colour maps of them. I recently bought a computer and with the new one I cannot create the colour maps beacuse the software do not properly allign the 3D Model. The problem I have is when I change the matrix as specified in the software. I use the tool fit plane (which takes the plane properly) and then I copy+paste the matrix in Apply transformation but the plane is changed (it is not perpendicular as the plane in the Fit Plane option. (If I follow step by step the whole process in the old computer I still can) Any help with this?
I attached to screenshots. Thanks in advance.
Best,
Diego

Re: Fit plane does not work in my new computer
I think it's because the transformation is applied to the entity you've selected and its children. So if you apply it to the cloud, it will also be applied to the child plane. If you want to keep the plane in its original position, you can move the plane somewhere else before applying the transformation to the cloud (drag and drop it under another entity, typically next to the plane). Another option would be to apply the inverse transformation to the plane afterward, but that's even more of a hack.
