Hi,

I'm not sure to understand well: when is it "missing" and when is it grayed out exactly? Can you post a screenshot?

Thanks,

I have tried un-installng, and using clean app, but still does not reset the wndow arrangement.
I dont know what i did to close the properties window.
I cant replicate the issue on my windows machine.

What is strange is that you don't see the bottom part of the 'DB tree' dialog either. You should see the 'Camera Link' checkbox on the (bottom) right side. It's as if the DB tree dialog was much too big. What happens if you move the console away?

the camera link checkbox is there, and i can un-dock the db tree, but still no properties panel.

Is there another pref file somewhere that is stopping the window layout from resetting on re-install?

i have obviously tried the one in the preferences folder.

Well I'm not sure how it works on Mac, but on Windows everything is saved in the 'Registry' (under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CCCorp\CloudCompare").

If I believe Qt documentation, the preferences are stored in XML files on Mac OS.

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem here. Which version of Mac OS X are you using?

The com.cccorp.CloudCompare.plist file in your Preferences folder is the file which stores window geometry. If you've deleted that and still have the problem, then I'm not sure how it's happening.

Im in osx 10.9 Mavericks

Deleting that pref doc does not reset any of the windows as far as i can tell.

Im having to use the windows version on a virtual machine until i can get CC workng in osx.

OK - here's something to try:
  • delete the plist files
  • restart your machine
  • try running CC again
See if that does it.

My theory is that the prefs are being cached by something called cfprefsd daemon and simply deleting the file isn't enough. This daemon is a 10.8 "innovation" which would explain why deleting the file works for me but not for you...
