Scalar Field color ramping

Daniel, could I please have a little guidance on how to set the scalar field gradient, so that the model ramps through all four colors over a very short Z range (the entire color range over, say 30 meter elevation change).

Do you mean the Color Scale gradient?

You could get inspiration from the HSV/HSL color spaces, and use 6 steps at regular distances: red --> yellow --> green -> light blue --> dark blue --> magenta (--> red)
