Hi Daniel and Hi Everyone,
I have been using the "Tools > Distances > Cloud/Mesh Distance" in CloudCompare to compare a single Mesh with a Point Cloud entity.
I am wondering if it is possible to calculate cloud distances for multiple (entities) meshes with a point cloud (pls see the attached file) in Cloud Compare either at the same time or sequentially. In a comment from 2015, you mentioned that this was not possible at that time, but was on the TODO list for future releases (https://danielgm.net/cc/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1008). Has there been any progress or solutions since then?
Or do you have a suggestion for an open-source alternative?
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Mustafi

Re: Calculate cloud distances for multiple entities!
Hi,
It is still not possible to select multiple meshes and one cloud. But it is possible to 'merge' the meshes (Edit > Merge) and then compute the distance from the cloud to the 'merged' entity. The result should be the same.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your reply:)
I used to use 'merge'. Now I have the confirmation that CC cannot calculate the distance for multiple entities yet.
