Cloud/mesh distance

Post by petrosmourouzis »

Hello, I would like to place a question. After the cloud/mesh distance calculation and in the window distance computation there is a histogram option which you can export to .csv. That are the numbers in that file? Is there any number indicate the distance variations? Thank you in advance

Can you share the csv file with us? I'm not sure to understand what the 4 first rows are?!

Normally you should see for each 'class' (or 'bin') of the histogram, the number of points within this bin, the minimum value and the maximum value.

Not sure what you mean by the distance variations exactly?

Unfortunately it can not be attached. (Invalid extension). I change the .csv to .jpg and upload it. By distance variation, I mean the difference in distance between two meshes. Those meshes have one difference only, one small hollow. I am trying to measure it. The hollow is where the red color is located.

Well there are multiple values here, so the histogram might be able to 'capture' it... You can spawn a 'label' on a particular area of the entity with SHIFT + left click. This will give you a way to read the distance in a particular spot.

Otherwise you can look at the maximum distance maybe?
