measure distance between points

I have to separate my surface in rectangles with dimensions 10x10 cm. I already have a grid on my surface that heps me to do this operation, but some points are lost and i want make sure that my rectangles are approximately 10x10. How can i do this ? i tried with "compute Cloud/Cloud distance" but a don t understand the way CC calculates this distances. Are this distances taken from the center of gravity of the reference one ?

The distance is computed between each point of the "compared" cloud to the nearest point in the "reference" cloud.
