Hi all,
I am trying to find wear and degradation of a wooden power line beam, I have no idea what i'm doing i've spent almost a week playing around with different softwares, cloud compare is excellent, but I cant seem to get what i'm after. See image, what I can see in the software is like this, and when i zoom in to just power poles, I just see pixel madness and cant make out anything
Note the powerline beam broke and burnt down my shed, i need evidence of degradation on the beam that broke, any assistance at all or advice would mean the world to me,
Thank you

Re: Wear on wooden power line beam through years
The cloud looks a bit 'rough' and inaccurate from what I can see? Have you tried to segment it with the 'scissors' tool maybe (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ation_Tool) or the Cross Section tool? (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... ss_Section).
This way you'll get a better visibility of this pole.
Then if you have enough points on this pole, you might be able to do some comparison over the years.
