Hi,
I have this main issue: after creating a mesh model out of a pointcloud using Cloudcompare, then I export this mesh in order to be imported into Revit. So far so good, but at some point somehow the texture/or materials get lost in the process, so the model in Revit shows up as a one solid colour model (as shownn on the pick).
The original mesh on Cloudcompare seems to be good, I mean, the mesh stills show textures. But I have tried exporting as .obj, .fbx and .ply, and then opening with Blender, and the model keeps showing up without texture...
I would really appreciate any help to sort this out.
Thanks very much in advance,
Carlos.

Re: Export mesh with texture from Cloudcompare
I believe the issue is that what you see in CloudCompare is per-vertex colors, and either you use a mesh exchange format that doesn't support colors (such as stl or obj), or more likely Revit doesn't support per-vertex colors (because the fbx and ply formats do support this information).
Sadly CC cannot convert colors to textures (yet). Maybe some other tools can do that?

Meshlab, Blender and Reality Capture can convert a colored pointcloud / vertex colors to texture map.
I have played a bit with importing textured meshes into Revit, unfortunately it results in a very large Revit file compared to the size of the original mesh (approximately 10x the size of the OBJ). Maybe the file size would not be an issue for you
