Point Cloud processing

Post by Stan1 »

Hello.
Is it possible to add some point cloud processing tools? At least triangulating selected region of a point cloud into a mesh.
It would be much greater to make some tools for inscribing CAD primitives into selected region of a point cloud, like cylinders for pipes, planes for walls and some primitives for constructions (boxes, I, U, T beams). As it implemented in Trimble Realworks for example.

Oh sorry I must have missed this message.

The idea is good and I believe this is already in the TODO list. But to be frank, this kind of processing can be very long and requires a lot of dialogs, support for at least one real CAD format, etc. So unless a developer is really motivated by this, it won't be done before long.

And I know Realworks do this very well ;)
