Export Points?

Post by whistleboy »

Is there a way to export the coordinates of points comprising two point clouds to a text file after the clouds have been opened and registered in CloudCompare? I noticed in an earlier post a mention of someone taking output from the "Command Line", but cannot seem to find a way to export the point data.

Thanks!

Hi again,

As I said in a previous post, you can export each point cloud (with their associated scalar field(s)) in various file format. Generally the most useful and simple format is ASCII (in which the distances are saved along points - one point per line: 'X Y Z distance' - and eventually colors or normals).

You just have to select each point cloud (in the database tree on the left) and use "File > Save" or the floppy disk icon.
