Transparency?

I fit a plane to a surface. I'd like to make the plane visible but 50% opaque or 50% transparent. Is this possible? I could not find it in the UI nor the documentation.
Thanks,
-k.

Indeed, there's no mean to do that right now. However, this would be very simple, so I think I'll add this feature in the next release.

Was this added? If so, where do I find it?
Thanks,

Well, it has been added to the "Tool > Other > Plane orientation" tool. But I'll add this option (i.e. stippling) as a checkbox for any mesh soon.
However, while it looks ok on a plane, it can looks very strange on true 3D meshes...

This option (stippling) is now available in the mesh properties dialog. Already on the github trunk.

Any chance transparency implementation could be revisited beyond stippling?
