point picking tool: Points appear too big

I need to measure the distances between two point clouds but the "Select 2 Points..." button in Point Picking menu plots the red coloured points, which are too big to see the actual points of clouds to be measured. I even measured the diameter of one such point and it appears to be ca. 28 mm.
How can I reduce its size? I am not able to pick the required points.

Can't you zoom in? The point label has a fixed size relative to the screen (not the cloud).

Check these screenshots:
Image 1: with increased Default Point Size
Image 2: with decreased Default Point Size
Image 3: sometimes the red spheres appear transparent and I can see & pick up the desired points, with a bit amount of contortion. I can continue with such condition but it is not the permanent case. check earlier images; default point size in image1 and image3 is same. You can figure out the diameter of those red spheres by the distance between measured points in given clouds.
Image 4: and few rare times, its just a simple operation.

Weird indeed! I'll look at this asap.

Oh, it was in fact due to the 'perspective' mode. The closer you are from an object, the bigger it is. And this was also true for 2D label markers...
I tried to compensate for this (but it's not that easy). You can try the new beta version and give me some feedback;

Thanks for the prompt action. I have used the Point Picking tool in version 2.8.0 for 63 times and it did not have same glitch.
I even changed the default point size but it was working as it supposed to be!
