color setting plugin tutorial

Anyone have a lead on documentation on the HSV and RGB color setting plugins?

I kinda get it, but it doesn't behave as I would expect and could use some direction.

Ah ok, this plugin is rather new and definitely lacks documentation. I don't know it very well. think I saw a video recently:
