obtaining a 3d model with real-world coordinates

Post by andrea3D »

I would like to use a photogrammetry software (e.g., 3DF Zephyr Lite) to get a measurable 3D model of a real-world object. In other words, the 3D model is required to be the same size as the real-world photographed object. However, any photogrammetry software I use produces a model with arbitrary coordinates.

My idea is to photograph the real object together with a ruler and then "resize" the object via CloudCompare on the basis of the real size of the ruler. However, I have no idea how to do this, and if this is really possible with CloudCompare. Could you please help me?

Yes, that's one solution. There are some Youtube tutorials, and also a quick explanation here: https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... e_entities
