Points registering as square, not spheres

Hello all,
I am a semi new user to cloud compare and am working on a 3d scan of a forest for my final thesis. Currently, I am finding different views to render to showcase parts of my project. As I look into it more I notice that the individual points are registering as square/cubes; is there a way to have them register/show as spheres or circles?

If you use quite recent versions of CloudCompare, you have an option to show the points as circle in the 'Display > Display settings' dialog.
