I’m editing this post because, in the end, there was no issue with the program. The problem was mine; I used an incorrect number of points.

But my first question would be: which version were you using? On which OS?

Version 2.13.2 on Windows 64 bits

Can you retry with the latest 2.14.alpha version?
And you reproduce the crash, then I'm highly interested by getting the data (you could send it to
admin@cloudcompare.org)
