how to get a set of points in the given cross-section of STL model
Hi,
I think the easiest way would be to sample (a lot of) points on the STL model (with Edit > Mesh > Sample points, the default is something like 1 million points). Then apply the cross section tool with a very thin slice (Tools > Segment > Cross section).
